Shop Front Tints
Mr Tint was contracted to supply and fit privacy film window tint to a large shop front pane. The shop front was for a local tattoo parlour (Draw the Line Tattoos), on Whitevale Street just off Duke Street in Glasgow.

The large bay window looks into the main reception area and waiting room. The client, shop owner Mark Biggins, wanted the window blacked out to provide an element of privacy to his customers inside.

We fitted a 5% window tint which provided the privacy required as well as giving the shop front a unique and trendy look. We also supplied and fitted cut vinyl lettering which was placed on top of the tint (and also on the main sign above the window).

Mr Biggins said "I love the way the front of the shop looks now. We put a lot of work into trying to achieve an 'old school' look and feel and the tinted window fits in perfectly. I love the fact that my customers can feel comfortable in the waiting room without passers-by peering in. I am extremely delighted read more...

Winter Safety & Tints

Well I made it to the Glasgow window tinting workshop safely this morning despite the blizzard of snow that has fallen on the UK overnight. However, on the way down I started thinking that Window Tint is actually a superb safety product for the car. Snow and ice (and even heavy rain or fog) are all hazards that motorists in the UK face. It doesn't matter how good we are at driving, this kind of weather can cause Russ Swift to spin out of control!

However, Window Tint can help protect us! Window tint is essentially a safety product, it is designed and manufactured with safety in mind. So, if we spin out on ice or snow, how does tint protect us?

First of all, if we crash it is likely that a window on the car could smash, sending shards of glass flying through the car and over you and passengers. However, window tint will help prevent the glass from breaking due to the laminating properties of tint. Secondly, if the window does smash, the tint will hold the broken window in place so tha read more...

Privacy at Home
We were contacted recently by a customer who lived on a ground floor flat in Glasgow where the large bay style windows were causing a privacy problem. Because the windows were so large it was very easy for people passing by to have a sneaky peek into the customer's house. He enquired with Mr Tint about a suitable privacy film to solve the problem. We installed a highly reflective tint with a silver dye to the glass which helped 'bounce' light back off of the outside of the glass almost rendering the glass into a mirror. The privacy effects of the film were tremendous as you could no longer see into the customer's house. The film acted like a one way mirror though meaning that the customer could still see out! The customer was not only pleased that we had solved his privacy concerns but he was also happy that we managed to achieve this while making the outside of his house look amazing and more expensive. The Decoy Bride
Mr Tint was recently hired by Ecosse Films to install tints to three brand spanking new BMWs that will appear in the upcoming romantic comedy movie, The Decoy Bride. The film stars David Tennant (The Doctor from Dr. Who) and Kelly McDonald (Helena Ravenclaw from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2) and will be released in 2011.

We were on set in Glasgow prior to filming a scene in which the three cars feature. We can't give away the plot of the new movie but the tints that we installed play an important part in the scene.

We installed 5% tints to three band new BMW 5 Series Saloons which appear in the movie courtesy of BMW for product placement.

We just can't wait for the movie to be released so that we can see our window tints on the Big Screen! Check out the photos here!
